Keynote: Sun Gil Kim, On the Cusp of Innovative Non-sewered Sanitation Products with Integrated Toilet and Treatment

Many types of on-site sanitation systems are often built on-site or portable. They vary from dry or chemical toilets to water flush, from simple pits, container-based, composting, or septic systems with wide-ranging effectiveness in killing human enteric pathogens and reducing environmental pollutants. They typically require costly de-sludging, transport, off-site treatment and disposal.

ISO 30500 is an international voluntary standard that defines performance and operational requirements for integrated toilet and treatment products that protect human and environmental health. It is aspirational for the user, applicable globally, and is expected to drive down unit cost through mass production for the benefit of people in developing and developed countries.

Keynote: Richard J. Bryan, Extraordinary Leadership Development & Succession Planning

In this interactive and entertaining program based on his book, Handing Over the Reins: A Concise Guide to Succession Planning, Richard shares how to create a seamless leadership transition from one generation to the next.

He uses his personal family business story as a case study and shares entertaining stories that provide humor, encourage audience participation, and share best practices that need to be adopted for succession planning to be successful. This includes learning how to hire, retain, and develop your next generation of leaders. Richard will show the audience not only what to do, but what NOT to do to guarantee business continuity for years to come.

Key Takeaways

  1. Develop (or update) your succession plan now (before you need it)

  2. Understand how to choose the right successor for your business

  3. Minimize conflict by having a strategic plan for communication

  4. Learn the difference between a contingency plan and a succession plan for your business
